Representation Matters!

Hey world if you haven't noticed but I am sure everyone does know that its Pride month considering these big corporations and business’s are spending their coins and I means coins hunni to get your attention and get into your purse hunni. They are pulling out all of their tricks to get you. Yea you, Mr/Ms thing. I am grateful that Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, Miss Major and the other nameless LGBTQ+ folks that fought for us so that we can live in our truth would not approve of this robbery that have been taking place in the LGBTQ+.community. I don’t think that those pioneers of the Gay Liberation Movement would be happy with the LGBTQ+ Community today.

I say that because this LGBTQ+ Community is so segregated. Yes I said what I said. There is a lot of racists that exist in this community. Majority of the gay clubs are owned by old white gay men who don’t want black or Latin people in their clubs. The LGBTQ+ Community is so fucked up that there are separate clubs for the black gays, Latin gays and white gays There is no unity in this community and that is sad. After all of the shit that our pioneers had to endure just so we can live in our truth and have the opportunities that we have is a slap in their face. In a lot of these cities across the country doesn't even have black or brown trans representation in their pride events. Hello, black and brown trans women and men are the reason your ass can celebrate pride. Don't treat us like second class citizens. We belong here just as much as your old white gays do. Matter of fact we are the reason your ass is able to be whoever you say you are. We are tired and it’s time that the world treat us with respect and dignity. We are not asking, we are demanding it hunni.
