IS Sex Survival Work, Work?

When trans women have been disowned by family, have nowhere to call home, and can't get a good-paying job, what are they to do? When ones back is up against the wall, and there is no way out of the situation no matter how hard one is trying to have a better life. The easiest way to make a coin is getting into the oldest trade in the book, prostitution. Sex Survival Work is the term used in today's culture. I have heard so many stories from trans women about how they ended up in this sex trade industry, primarily from black and brown trans women. All of their stories were similar. They come from broken homes. They all had very traumatic stories. Being trans isn’t easy. The black and brown trans community has never had it easy. We are murdered and discriminated against every day. We are the most hated demographic of people on the planet earth. The reason so many trans girls get into sex work isn't that we are lazy. Hunni blame it on the economy. The economy have forced a lot of trans women into the sex trade industry. These trans women are putting their lives at risk just to have the necessities that so many others take for granted. This is a problem in the black and brown trans community. No one wants to put their life at risk. Many of the trans community have drug addiction. Many have HIV and other diseases. Many are dealing with mental health issues. The trans community deserves to have a good life or a better life other than what we were given. There are trans women who enjoy the sex trade industry. You also have trans women who are looking for a way out of the sex trade industry. That’s why it’s important for LGBTQ organizations and Allies to help the black and brown trans community come through this cycle, because the trans community is losing too may of our black and brown trans sistaz. Do what you want to do with your life. Don't give in and don't give up hunni.
